What is a WiP? Well, WiP stands for “Work-in-Progress”. These are posts that have been gathering dust in my drafts folder for many a moon and I’ve decided to bring back to life, either by posting whatever I had in draft as is or by reworking and following through with my original idea. Go here [...]

…that I wrote this:
Every single professor took the time today to remind us that we’ve hit the halfway mark in our semester.
And reminded us to start doing practice exams for finals.
And to start our outlines.
Eek! Is it really already time for that???
We had a group “pulse check” in Legal Writing today, which was basically Prof [...]

How are you?
Stressed? Nervous? Excited? Overwhelmed? Confused?
I’ve been there, as have many, many other people reading this blog. There comes with the impending start of 1L year a thrill of excitement – Finally! You’re starting law school! Woo hoo! Quickly on the heels of that excitement comes the feeling that you have no idea what [...]

adios 1L!!!!

15May09

hey blog people!!
1L is BEHIND ME!! If you can’t tell, I’m pretty ecstatic about it. I have no idea how finals went in all my classes or what my grades will be, but I’m fairly confident that I at least passed them all…I can’t see how I could have actually failed them. You know what [...]

There’s nothing better to combat a feeling of inadequacy than spending some time doing (or talking about) something you know you’re qualified for. Finals, and the first year of law school in general, have been a bit of a battle for me. While I found most of my first year courses to be interesting at [...]

12May09

Well, 3 down 2 to go. I have Torts tomorrow night and Property Friday night. I have a love/hate relationship with evening exams. On the one hand, it sucks to be taking an exam until 9:30pm. By the time I’m done I just want to go to bed. And with an “every other day” exam [...]

I have survived 2/5 of my finals (well, 3/6 if you count legal writing).
Civ Pro – Monday 5/4 – CHECK!
Contracts – Friday 5/8 – CHECK!
Now I’ve got to prep for the week from hell.
Crim Law – Monday 5/11
Torts – Wednesday 5/13
Property – Friday 5/15
Yippee Skippy! Not. I’d say you won’t be seeing much of me [...]

ahem…

06May09

Sorry to break the Wednesday wordlessness, but I have an important message.
To all you law students who have open note, open computer, open book exams, I’d just like to say that I wish I were there to punch your professors in the face.
Completely unfair.
Contracts is open for us, but that’s it. 4 more year long [...]

The following albums are keeping me sane and/or motivated as I outline/practice-exam/freak out before finals:

Fergie, The Duchess
MIKA, Life in Cartoon Motion
Scissor Sisters, Ta-Dah
Francesca Battestelli, My Paper Heart
Legally Blonde: The Musical Soundtrack
Hairspray Soundtrack
Leona Lewis, Spirit
Alicia Keys, As I Am

Plus a random mish mash of irritatingly catchy singles from the late 1990s.
What song can you not seem [...]
